It has taken me trial and error to learn , but once I have figured out the steps I can now get back into ketosis within 24 hours.

1. Eat Your Last Meal Before 6 PM to Start Off Right
The initial step to put your body into ketosis quickly is actually initiated on the previous evening. You need to consume your last meal before 6 PM on the previous day. The reason for this is to not have any undigested food in your gut when you’re hitting the bed.
When your body is digesting any food, it undergoes a lot of stress. Thus, your body would not be able to maintain proper hormonal balance during this period. Also, it will not be able to heal itself during this period of time.
In order to ensure that your body is at complete rest when you hit the bed, you have to consume your last meal before 6 PM on the previous day. This would also help you in beginning the next days fast earlier.
2. Go to Sleep Early to Prepare for the Big Day
Once you have your meal before 6 PM, it is a good idea to hit the bed around 9 PM. Even though this might be a bit earlier than your usual sleep time, but in order to put your body into ketosis, this is a very important step.

The original Bulletproof Coffee consisists of:
- 1 TBS of Brain Octane
- 2 TBS Ghee
- 1 Cup of Bulletproof Coffee
The cheaper and more affordable version is:
- 1 TBS of MCT oil or Coconut oil
- 2 TBS of Unsalted Grass-Fed Butter (Kerrygold is available at most grocery stores)
- 1 Cup of any coffee you like.
Blend all ingredients for 10 – 20 seconds. I used a Nutribullet style blender but after a few weeks the blending attachment started to leak. Probably from the heat. So sense then I switched to a handheld blender with a metal end and blend the ingredients in a large cup.
I opt for the more affordable version. I am probably missing out on some benefits of the higher quality ingredients though. When I am out of MCT oil I go with the Coconut oil.
MCT oil basically consists of medium chain triglycerides. The unique thing about these is that they are not interrupted by the gallbladder and reach the liver straight away. If you would remember from our discussion above, the liver is the organ of the body which produces ketones. Thus, the energy is provided to the body much faster.
When you choose coconut oil rather than MCT Oil, coconut oil itself consists of 60% MCT. Thus, when you choose coconut oil you are actually consuming MCT just in the diluted form.
If you are using coconut oil, you have to make sure that you choose the unrefined, extra virgin or organic variant of coconut oil.
You have to consume just 3 to 4 tablespoon of healthy fat every couple of hours till dinner. You can replace MCT and coconut oil with any other choice of healthy fat. You just need to make sure that it is devoid of any preservatives or additives.
The caffeine in coffee helps to curb your hunger and getting through the fast easier. In case, you do not like coffee, you can opt for caffeine drinks or you can opt for other beverages which consist of caffeine in smaller quantities.
